IMGL LAUNCHES CANADIAN GAMING LAWYER MAGAZINE

I am very pleased to announce that the International Masters of Gaming Law has entered into an agreement with MediaEdge Communications, Inc., the Toronto based publisher of Canadian Gaming Business Magazine, to publish a new IMGL magazine directed to the Canadian gaming market entitled Canadian Gaming Lawyer Magazine. The IMGL Canadian Gaming Lawyer Magazine will be published twice a year, with issues being included with the mailing of the May and October editions of Canadian Gaming Business Magazine in much the same manner as the IMGL currently distributes its Casino Lawyer publication in conjunction with Casino Enterprise Management Magazine. The 2008 issues of this new magazine will be published without cost to the IMGL under a special arrangement that has been worked out between the IMGL and MediaEdge as a result of negotiations handled by Michael Lipton and your President.

The contract has been signed and the articles for the first issue are being finalized at the present time under the supervision of IMGL Publications Committee member Michael Lipton. Interested article authors should contact Michael Lipton directly regarding placement of articles in the 2008 issues. This is the IMGL's first endeavor in publishing a magazine outside of the United States. It is an exciting new venture for the IMGL made possible through the diligent efforts of Michael Lipton. Kudos to Michael! There are other publishing undertakings on the drawing board that are close to fruition, so stay tuned for the upcoming months will see additional expansion of IMGL's presence in the publishing world.

IMGL SPONSORS CANADIAN GAMING SUMMIT LEGAL & REGULATORY PROGRAM SET FOR APRIL 29-MAY 1

The Canadian Gaming Summit , which is a production of MediaEdge Communications, Inc., has partnered with the IMGL to present the Legal & Regulatory Program at this year's 12th annual Summit, scheduled to be held on April 29-May 1st at the Palais des Congres in Montreal, Quebec Province, Canada. The Legal & Regulatory Program is being chaired by IMGL immediate past president Michael Lipton. A number of IMGL members will be speaking at this conference, which is Canada's only gaming trade show. It is an extremely popular event. I encourage all members to make reservations to attend this year's premiere Canadian gaming event in Montreal, one of North America's truly fabulous cities. Detailed information on the Canadian Gaming Summit can be obtained by going to its website, www.canadiangamingsummit.com.

SOUTHERN GAMING SUMMIT BEING HELD MAY 7-8

The IMGL is providing the gaming law track for this year's Southern Gaming Summit. IMGL Member Len Blackwell is heading up the speaker roster effort in conjunction with IMGL member Britt Singletary. The conference is being held in Biloxi, Mississippi. Our Executive Director, Melissa Lurie, has for many years managed this conference. Details on the Summit can be obtained at its website, www.sgsummit.com, and from Melissa Lurie.

CASINOFEST 6 CONFERENCE SET FOR MAY 12-14

Casino Enterprise Management Magazine is conducting its CasinoFest 6 conference at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota. Once again, the IMGL will be providing the legal track for the conference. There are five separate law related panels being presented. The panel topics were developed by Tony Cabot and your President. There are plenty of speaking opportunities on the panels. If you are interested in speaking at CasinoFest 6, contact Melissa Lurie, Tony Cabot or me as soon as possible.

IMGL MAY 21-23 NAPA CONFERENCE UPDATE

My February President's letter presented an overview of the IMGL Napa Valley conference being held at the Villagio Inn & Spa in Yountville, California, which is in the heart of Napa Valley. The IMGL Napa Conference Committee (John Maloney, Harlan Goodson and Jerry Levine) have put together an excellent program. The brochures advertising the program are being printed as this President's letter is being sent, so you will be receiving the brochure in the mail shortly. Register for the conference early as we expect that bookings will fill up quickly given the quality of the program and the fact that Frank Fahrenkopf, President of the American Gaming Association, and Ernie Stevens, Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association, will receive the 2008 Gaming Executives of the Year award at the conference. The Spring Issue of Casino Lawyer features our award recipients on the cover, with in depth stories about both of them in the magazine. This is going to be a fantastic conference - register early for a great all around experience in the heart of Napa Valley.

IMGL BERLIN CONFERENCE SET FOR OCTOBER 29-31

As announced in the February President's Letter, this year's IMGL Fall conference will be held in Berlin on October 29-31. The Co-Chairs of the Berlin conference are Joerg Hofmann, Wulf Hambach and Henrik Hoffman. They are well on their way to securing the conference setting, hotel accommodations and side events. Detailed site information will be forthcoming in the April President's Letter. The 2008 IMGL Regulator of the Year award will be presented at the Berlin conference, so save the dates!

2008 IMGL COMMITTEE STRUCTURE AND COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS

The participation of IMGL's members in the activities of IMGL is critical to the success of the IMGL. With this fact utmost in mind, I have revitalized the IMGL committee structure and committee appointments for calendar year 2008. I have several goals in this restructuring: (1) increased participation by IMGL members in the operations of the IMGL, (2) expansion of the IMGL membership base, (3) expansion of the educational and publications presence of the IMGL on a worldwide basis, (4) expanding the services that IMGL provides to its members, and (5) identifying the next group of IMGL leaders. For those of you who are not on a committee yet, please let me know what your committee interests are and we will work to fulfill your interests wherever possible. In this regard, I want to emphasize that committee structure and committee membership is dynamic in nature, i.e. it is an ever changing process designed to maximize the strength and outreach of IMGL and the benefits that IMGL provides to its members. Your thoughts, suggestions and ideas are always welcome. Participate, connect, grow and lead!

FULL 2008 GAMING CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

The IMGL website contains a comprehensive list of gaming conferences being held throughout the world in calendar year 2008. The conference schedules are broken down into (1) gaming conferences in which IMGL participates in one form or another and (2) other gaming conferences. As IMGL continues to grow, your officers and appropriate committees will continue their outreach to the "other conferences" to establish direct connectivity between the IMGL and these conferences. It is my view that no "other conference" is beyond our connectivity reach in one form or another. The IMGL has become the dominant gaming lawyer association in the world. This has been achieved in an incredibly short period of time as a result of the vision, dedication and hard work on many IMGL members. That being said, we can not sit on our laurels. We, as an organization, must continue to focus on and strive for excellence in all of IMGL's endeavors. We must never forget that hard work meeting opportunity equals luck.

My best to all IMGL members. Keep up the great work!
