| ABA Business Law Section's Gaming Law Committee announced the following IMGL members have been appointed to serve
for the 2007-08 term beginning on August 13th. This Committee monitors
and explores regulatory, financial and transactional developments
in the tribal governmental and commercial gaming industries and
serves as a forum for section members to learn about the increasingly complex
and prevalent area of gaming law. Completed Lewis and Roca LLP is pleased to announce that its partnership with the attorneys of Beckley Singleton was completed on September 1, 2007. The combined entity is now doing business in the state of Nevada under the name of Lewis and Roca LLP. The partnership with Beckley Singleton attorneys makes Lewis and Roca LLP one of the largest law firms in the state with strong capabilities in corporate law and litigation in a wide range of practice areas. | Thomas N. Auriemma retired as Director of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement in March of 2007 after having served as a casino regulator for 30 years. Auriemma joined Penn National Gaming, Inc. in Wyomissing, PA, as its Vice President/Chief Compliance Officer. | |

| Ron Gifford, a partner with Baker & Daniels LLP, won the Best in Business award from The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) for his column, “There Ought To Be A Law,” which appears monthly in the Indianapolis Business Journal. Nominated by the Indianapolis Business Journal, Gifford has been writing the column for the weekly business publication since 2001. His informative and often irreverent commentary has tackled legal issues ranging from local property taxes to Anna Nicole Smith's Supreme Court case. | |

| John Maloney of Maloney and Tabor will celebrate his birthday on November 30th. Please help him celebrate by sending him your congratulations. Maloney is a founder of IMGL and has served as the Program Committee Chair of the conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia and is the Program Co-Chair of the upcoming IMGL Spring Conference in Napa Valley.
