Volume 3 Number 2 Spring Issue 2007

President's Letter

At the risk of self-aggrandizement, my message to you this month is that the International Masters of Gaming Law is a healthy, vibrant, and relevant organization, which gains strength all the time.

We have a very aggressive agenda with a number of important, time-consuming projects in the works. We have a relatively large number of committees that help guide this organization and its projects. And we have only 135 members available to tackle our ambitious agenda. Let me reiterate-this is your organization, and your active, ongoing participation is imperative to its ongoing success. It is still early in the calendar year, and there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.

The IMGL will continue to be highly visible at a number of gaming conferences in 2007, sending attendees and supplying expert speakers. I am pleased to announce the location of the two IMGL 2007 conferences. The Spring Conference will take place May 23-25 in Chicago at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel. The Fall Conference will be Sept. 2 - 4 in Cape Town, South Africa. Details can be found at www.IMGLConference.com.

Once again IMGL will present 15 hours at the gaming law track at the highly popular CasinoFest 3, sponsored by Casino Enterprise Management, May 14 - 16 in Prior Lake, Minnesota. We'll have a strong presence, as usual, at the Global Gaming Expo in November in Las Vegas. And new this year, IMGL will be the exclusive sponsor of a gaming law track at the 15th Annual Southern Gaming Summit, which returns to its home in Biloxi, Mississippi, May 9 and 10.

If you have an interest in speaking at any of these events, please contact IMGL Executive Director Melissa Lurie or myself.

One final note on membership: We're still growing, and looking to grow. The best way to do that in an exclusive organization is through recruiting and referrals. If you know someone who would be an asset to this organization, please contact me. Of if you're reading this and not yet a member and are in need of a sponsor, let me know and I'll be glad to assist you.
