Robert Dill, Dill Dill Carr Stonbraker & Hutchings, P.C., received the Best Lawyers in the United States for 2007. He will also be named in the “5280 Magazine” as a Colorado Super Lawyer in the area of gaming licensing among others.
D. Michael McBride III, Sneed Lang, has been named chair of the Indian Law Section by the Federal Bar Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C., with nearly 16,000 practitioners and judges nationwide. McBride is a lawyer in Tulsa and is recognized by Best Lawyers in America for “Native American Law.” McBride recently gave presentations including “San Manuel Band of Mission Indians v. NLRB (D.C. Cir.): the Tribal-Governmental Distinction,” to the Human Resource Forum for Native American Gaming/Hospitality Industries in Oklahoma, sponsored by Labor Relations Institute, Inc., the “Corporate Partnerships and Recent Developments in Federal Indian Law,” American Indian Chamber of Commerce, and “Second Annual Economic Development Summit” in Tulsa.
Sue McNabb, received the National Government Award from the National Council on Problem Gambling for her Gambling Treatment Referral Program.
Peter Maheu, managing partner of Global Intelligence Network, announced the acquisition of BlueTree Management Services, a Nevada based provider who specializes in customer service evaluations for the gaming and hospitality industries. Global’s subsidiary, QSI Specialists, is currently Nevada’s largest mystery shopping provider with 250 mystery shopping employees.
Yap Wai Ming, Stamford Law Corporation, spoke at the second annual Asia Mobile Gaming Summit held in Hong Kong Oct. 31 through Nov. 1. The panel he spoke on was “Working within a Regulated Gambling Regime: Guidance on the Interpretation and Implementation of Existing and Future Regulations.”
Heidi McNeil Staudenmaier, Snell & Wilmer, as part of being named to “Best Lawyers in America” for 2006-2007 for both Gaming Law and Native American Law, was featured and profiled in the November issue of “Phoenix Magazine.”
Robert W. Stocker II, Dickinson Wright, has been elected president of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Legal Authors Society; designated as Michigan Super Lawyer in the following practice areas: administrative law (includes gaming law), cusiness/corporate, and insurance coverage.
Lawrence G. Walters, Weston, Garrou, DeWitt & Walters, was among the top winners in the Orlando Business Journal’s Best of the Bar 2006 Survey for First Amendment and Internet law. Walters was also quoted in the Miami Herald on Dec. 5 regarding the Giordano case.
